Currently, he is a Corrections Complaint Examiner and Investigator for the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), but Brad Hompe has taken a long time and done about everything one can do in a jail or prison environment to get there. For example, in addition to leading the development and implementation of corrections programs, Brad Hompe has managed to provide virtually every type of services imaginable within the environment of the corrections system, throughout Wisconsin and nationally.

With WI-DOC, Brad Hompe began as a corrections officer and went up the ladder a step at a time, to sergeant, lieutenant, captain, unit manager and deputy warden along the way to becoming a warden and beyond. In addition, Brad has worked as a prison staff employee, as well as a jail inspector, instructor and trainer. Over time, he has earned a reputation as a top-notch expert on prison operations, primarily due to his experience in all aspects of jail operations, including food service, sanitation and maintenance, classification and supervision and even fire safety, all within the corrections environment.

Over the many years he has worked with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WI-DOC), Brad Hompe has been also has developed training and evaluation policies and those involving incident management, classification and supervision. However, he also knows how to deal with such issues as food service, sanitation and maintenance. He is also considered an expert when it comes to food service, sanitation and maintenance, as well as classification and supervision and even fire safety.

Well before Brad Hompe started his corrections career, he worked hard to make sure he had sufficient education to draw from. He started that off by earning Bachelor's Degrees in criminal justice and psychology from Minnesota-based Winona State University and followed that up by obtaining a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. That was nowhere near the end of his education, however; Brad Hompe is also certified as a law enforcement specialist by Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, Minnesota, as well as from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
